FAQ's Architectural & Structural

Frequently Asked Questions – Architectural & Structural Bracing

What’s the difference between structural rods and structural cables?
Structural rods are rigid elements that provide bracing in both tension and compression, making them ideal for features requiring clean, straight lines and minimal deflection.
Cables, on the other hand, are flexible and only work in tension — great for lightweight, elegant bracing or support across larger spans.

Can your systems be used externally, and how do they hold up in coastal environments?
Yes — all our systems are suitable for both interior and exterior use. We typically use 316 stainless steel or galvanised steel with prime and paint if required for enhanced corrosion resistance, making them ideal for coastal, marine, or exposed conditions.

Are the systems customisable?
Absolutely. Each project is made to order — including length, rod/cable diameter, end fittings, finishes, and mounting details. We regularly work with architects and fabricators to tailor systems to specific design and structural requirements.

What’s the typical lead time?
Standard lead times range from 4 -20 weeks, depending on the system and finish required. Long and large bar orders often come via sea— just let us know your timeframe early in the process.
