Rope Splicing Service

For the best looking and strongest ropes take advantage of our splicing services. We splice all our ropes personally in-house, which means we can offer custom applications and a quick turn-around. We offer quality of service and good craftsmanship.

Did you know that a knot can reduce the strength of a rope by around 50%! Where with a splice this is limited to around 5-10%. It's the weakest link in the system that counts!

We can splice a simple soft eye, an eye with thimble or directly to hardware. We can also taper sheets or form continuous loops. We can make custom soft shackles and Dyneema loops. Please get in contact regarding these. We can tailor-make every rope to the situation on board of your sailing boat. 
The most commonly chosen options are: eye-splice for a shackle, eye-splice for a mooring, tapering and an endless rope. 

Please email us and advise length of tapers if selecting this option.
For mooring style laid ropes a standard eye is 250mm. If you require a different size please advise.

If you would like a rope spliced directly to a piece of hardware or onto a thimble, please also purchase this on the same order and we will contact you to confirm your requirements.

Note: Extra rope is require to complete the splice. Please allow an extra metre on your rope purchase to allow for the splice.
